Now, we’ll make you learn about SEPC registration process in detail, who can become its members, documents required for registration, applicable membership fees under different categories and other related process.

Documents Required for SEPC Registration

You need to upload the following documents while registering for SEPC membership.

  1. Mandatory upload of the applicant’s online IEC Code Print (Click here to download the print).
  2. Mandatory upload of the applicant’s passport size photograph.
  3. Mandatory upload self-certified copy of GST Registration Certificate, if not available then a proper clarification must be provided as justification. Note that Original GST Certificate with the company’s address needs to be uploaded and not the GST Provisional Certificate.
  4. Mandatory upload of a copy of self-signed Memorandum of Association (only first 4-5 pages required)/Partnership Deed/Trust Deed.
  5. Mandatory upload of last Three Financial Years’ Foreign Exchange Earning (FEE) details of the services exported (if there was any), as certified by a Chartered Accountant.
  6. Upload a self-certified copy of Board Resolution (For institutional or corporate membership)/Power of Attorney (for individual ordinary membership including proprietorship and partnership). This is required in case name of the signing authority is not mentioned in IEC.

Registration Process Under SEPC

Services Export Promotion Council registration process is of a few minutes with everything done online from uploading documents to payments, with no paper work at all. In fact, the documents uploading is a field in the application form itself where the applicant needs to upload the document asked in the mentioned size and format while filling up the form. This application form is divided into 3 steps, i.e. Step-1, Step-2 and Step-3. Let’s go through the registration process along with the relevant screenshots of the application process and the form to make your understanding crystal clear.

The very first step is to go to the SEPC website.

After you open the website, you will find 2 links for Membership of RCMC Registration on the home page, first one which says ‘CLICK HERE TO REGISTER ONLINE FOR RCMC MEMBERSHIP’ at the center of the home page in red color and the second one which says ‘Login for Membership RCMC’ on the right side of the home page in blue tab.

After clicking on any one of the two mentioned links, you will land on to the login page where you will see a tab in the header menu bar with the name “New Membership Registration”, clicking on this will lead you to the new registration form which is divided into 3 Steps.

Steps for New Membership Form Fill-Up

  1. Click on New Membership Registration” tab.
  2. As per the first dialogue box named “Important Notice”, click on the option “I agree” on the left bottom side of the dialogue box and press ‘Continue” tab

  3. Important Notice as mentioned above points out that all the details asked in the application form are filled up exactly as per the Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) Certificate. And, if the details are not as per the IEC Certificate then the application will not be processed.
  4. If any changes are required in the Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC), then you need to get it changed in your IEC certificate through Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
  5. As per the second dialogue box, which shows the membership categories and applicable fees with the payment details, determine your category and the fees and click on “I agree” option on the left bottom side of the dialogue box and press “Continue” tab.

  6. Before filling-up the form, demand draft or cheque must be kept ready in hand. If you wish to make payment through RTGS/NEFT, ‘Reference Number’ for transfer of fees in SEPC bank account through RTGS/NEFT will be required to be entered in Step-3 of the application form.
  7. Thoroughly and carefully read all the headings/fields of the form and then fill the details as per format (Step-1 to Step-3) and upload the necessary documents where ever asked for.

  8. After completing the 3 steps and filling up all the fields/headings, click on the “I have read and agree to the terms and conditions” option and press the “PREVIEW” tab to verify all the details. Under ‘Preview’ the form looks as follows:

  9. After proof-reading the form pressSUBMIT” tab if the form has been filled up correctly and needs no changes, or if you think the information filled-up is incorrect or you have missed out something then press “EDIT” tab and make the changes where ever required.
  10. After the successful submission of the application form, the person will receive an acknowledgement on their registered e-mail i.d.
  11. Within 2 weeks from the date of form submission, the RCMC membership certificate will be issued. In case of any discrepancy, an e-mail will be sent to provide the required information or document. The additional information or corrections should be uploaded on the portal after logging in through your ‘I.D./Username and Password’ (Username/I.D. is your IEC Code and Password will be sent by speed post on your registered address).
  12. You can also check the status of membership application on the portal.
  13. Once the membership certificate is issued, an e-Member Certificate will be sent through e-mail and a hard copy of the same will also be sent to the member’s office address.

RCMC should be deemed to be valid from the 1st April of the licensing year in which it is issued and will be valid for five years ending 31st March of the licensing year unless otherwise specified.
